It was a book discovered at an auction. While not a first edition, it was printed in 1676. Old enough for me. Interest and research found this tome to be a seminal work of English literature. While the Renaissance engendered study of the human body as both organic machine and vehicle of ideas, nonetheless there is something amusing about the arrogance of men who would quantify and dissect the condition of a soul.
